BBCh in 2010
We did plan to update the news page very regularly but sometime back our chain slipped and it took a very long time to put it back and hence, the delay in relaying the latest BBCh news.
Well, now that we are back on track, we’ll stay on track!
So, what’s new about BBCh in 2010? Isn’t it the same old dull colored website with no splash or dash and no interesting flash designs, the same old getting up on a Sunday morning (thankfully the day is fixed!!) and going some place to race our flashy (Ultegra/Deore??) bikes!
Well, umm… No. Read on.
For starters, we will do our best to ensure that the latest photos are uploaded asap after a race so you can show ‘em off at work or at home in the next few days.
Then, we plan to have the Rider page updated with everyone’s results after each race. This way you keep a track of your timing and see where your competition stands. The Rider page is located under Results.
Next, we plan to update the site itself and weave some web magic to it to make it more lively. Please note that website overhauling is a time taking process especially because the folks helping out with this have their regular jobs to go to and are helping us out voluntarily. (If can join hands with the team to get things going write to us!).
Lastly, we will try our best to inform all the riders who have registered for the event of the month about the event well in advance so that they have time to train for it and also plan their weekend.
Happy Racing!

BBCh5 summary
The early morning drizzle after a massive downpour the previous night, dint prove a deterrent enough for thw 50+ bikers who were roaring at the start line…. The route spanned through absolutely beautiful countryside, most of which would have gone unnoticed at the blitzy pace of many riders…..
The podium (i.e, the KYNKYNY racing car) saw KYNKYNY’s own Vivek Radhakrishnan on top, followed by Dipankar and Ravi Ranjan in the men’s category…. Among the women, it was Nupur followed by Rekha and Anke
The results and standings should be up by a coupla days, and some pics are already up in the Gallery. go check ‘em out here

BBCh5 is just round the corner….. Gear up
Quick Info:
Date – 20th September (Sunday)
Time – 7:30am
Type – On road
Location – Off Doddaballapur road, starting a little distance from the village of Rajankunte
Distance – approx. 45 km, single start to finish loop
Route map and Driving directions – see end of post
Register
Register here.
During registration apart from your name, email-id and participation level (racer/volunteer) you need to enter a Jersey number. Some numbers already assigned are here – Riders list. If you are on the list then use the number assigned to you. If not then pick a unique number of your liking that is not already on the list and register.
Since the Jersey number assignment is not automated it will take some time for your name to appear in the Riders list so don’t worry.
Volunteers
This is a long route and requires multiple volunteer points to prevent riders from going off route, to keep timing, to simply shout and scream at the top of their voices so pitch in and join up. Photographers with the cool SLRs and the compact point and shoots this will be a great opportunity to flex those fast shutters and video-enthusiasts can rope in support drivers to capture the racers in motion.
Supporters
Bring you family, friends, colleagues, share the experience with them. Since the race track loops back you can easily see multiple stages of the race by traveling a short distance. Thinking of getting into cycling go ahead and talk to the participants and get enthused.

Some stale news, some new:
Last month’s event – Play in the Mud was through some awesome trails near Whitefield. The route saw a lot of dust raised by around 50 cycles, and their riders, mainly MTBs, some hybrids, and some roadbikes too. There was fun, there were falls…… there was the glory of the winner standing on top of a car, and wearing yellow ….
This month’s event which is scheduled for 16th, is rumored to be on along the water pipeline from the kaveri to bangalore….. We’ll keep u posted on that.
